Voice technology is about customer relations and more. Voice technologists use speech recognition and speech recognition and speech synthesis to allow you to communicate with the system. They use a wireless wearable computer with a headset and michrophone to receive instructions by voice and verbally confirm their actions back to the system. The wearable computer or voice terminal communicates with the software via a radio frequency local area network.


Using the voice recognition technology they provide speech access to your company's communication infrastructure and real time call connectivity. Used in companies it offers hands free mobile management of telephone calls, email and fax messages, maximising employee productivity.
Communication skills are the key to a good voice technologist and you got to have a clear voice, speech, grammar, fluency, good listening and comprehension. Call centers used only voice based customer support, but now offer voice based customer support as well as email response, web based text-chat service and other customer interaction. The call centre services can be "inbound" where the calls are received from the customers enquiring about a service or a product that the organisation provides. There is also the "outbound" services where calls are made to the customers to sell products or collect information.


To choose the career, you need good english. Computer literacy, typing speed, knowledge of consumer behaviour, marketing skills are some skills that have the added advantage. One should have good communication and listening skills. More that you have to undergo training in there areas like accent, 'slang', telephone ettiqutte, telesales etiqutte, cyber grammer, intreaction and call centre terminology. You have to undergo through training on the product its problems, breakdown to be answerable to the complaints of the customer.
