Review of Nokia N80

The Nokia N80 was the second phone in the Nseries. It has Quad band and its design is the slide type. Some noteworthy features are that it has a Wi-Fi and a SIP compatible VOIP. To mention this impressive feature list is a 3 megapixel camera and a display of high resolution. The camera itself is located on the back, with a flash and macro mode slider, and a memory card slot is located on the left side of the N80. The power button and infrared port are located on the top, and the mini power port, the same as used on the N90 and 770, and pop-port connector are located on the bottom. The control keys are ofcourse easy and the screen resolution at 352 x 416 pixels is sharp. Bluetooth 2.0 means support for fast data transfer rates and better performance in a multi-link situation, and the addition of the A2DP profile provides support for stereo Bluetooth headsets and other advanced audio capabilities. Interestingly, infrared seems to be making something of a comeback on S60 devices and is present in the N80. Having been absent in some of the recent high end devices Nokia have added it back after demand from users.

The 3 megapixel camera dosent have a autofocus but has the functions like self timer, advanced sequence mode, 10 scene modes and brightness, contrast, sharpness, colour saturation, white balance, exposure compensation and colour tones adjustments, image quality settings and video stabilisation. The LED flash is there and there is also a VGA camera for video calls.

The phone also includes Nokia XpressShare , which is branding for the sharing of multimedia between users and this also includes video sharing. The Nokia Xpress Music brand is there in the Nokia N80 and it has the function to sync and transfer music files to and from the PC. It also supports UPnP. The FM stereo has a visual radio and there is a multimedis key which is the shortcut key to 5 different applications. The memory is less compared to the applications provided but there is provision to increase it through the MiniSD cards.
